To Make For
Cinco de Mayo is ALMOST
Traditionally, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican victory over the French army on May 5, 1862. However, modern-day celebrations focus on Mexican culture appreciation, and people across Mexico and the United States celebrate beloved, festive traditions. Everyone celebrates Cinco de Mayo differently, from thrilling parties to small get-togethers. But one of the most popular ways to enjoy the holiday is indulging in delicious alcoholic drinks (bonus points if they contain authentic Mexican tequila)! Here are some of the BEST Cinco de Mayo cocktails you can make using Number JUAN Tequila!
Jalapeno & Pineapple Margarita
Margaritas are a classic drink to enjoy every Cinco de Mayo, and who doesn’t love a little sweet and spicy combination?! Our Jalapeno & Pineapple Margarita packs a punch while providing a burst of tropical flavor. And you can even customize the sweetness and flavor profile to your exact preferences. Here is everything you need to create one:
- 1 ½ oz. Number JUAN Tequila Reposado
- 2 oz. pineapple juice
- 2 oz. lime juice
- ½ oz. Cointreau
- To Taste — simple syrup
- 4 jalapeno slices
- Salt
Start by rimming your glass with salt. Then, add the tequila, pineapple juice, lime juice, and Cointreau to a shaker. If you prefer sweeter beverages, add a dash of simple syrup. Shake all these ingredients together and pour them into your rimmed glass. Finally, throw in a few jalapeno slices to complete your drink!
PRO TIP: The more seeds in the jalapeno slices, the spicier your margarita will taste! If you want a super-spicy drink, try muddling a few jalapeno slices and adding them to the shaker with the other ingredients. This step will help that spicy backing to shine through the sweet pineapple base.
